The Lake George Youth Commission basketball program is a developmental program designed to teach basic skills and rules of the game in a fun, healthy environment. 

LGYC supports NBA/USA guidelines & rules that help promote the health & well-being of each young athlete.

Cancellations are made at the discretion of the LGYC Director
Cancellations - If school is closed due to weather conditions practices are cancelled.  If school is closed on a Friday due to weather conditions Saturday practices are cancelled. 

Pre-K - 2nd grade will practice on Saturdays at the Lake George Elementary School.

Grades 3rd - 6th will practice 1 or 2 nights during the week at the Lake George Elementary School or Lake George High School.  We compete with HS sports for gym time at both the elementary and high school so scheduling for practices maybe week to week.

Gym Floors:
For players' safety & to protect gym floors players are asked to wear separate shoes into the school buildings not their basketball sneakers!

Games
Games will be on Saturdays at the Lake George High School or away.
We will be playing Bolton, North Warren, Warrensburg, Hadley-Luzerne, Corinth & Queensbury.

Practices are for coaches and players only.

K-2nd - 1 coach & 3 asst. coaches per team (this number could change depending on the number of registrants)

3rd - 6th 1 coach & 1 asst. per team

*All coaches & asst. coaches must be registered with myrec. 
*Registering to coach or to assist in coaching does not guarantee a position as a coach or an assistant coach.
*LGYC Director has final say in all coaching positions.

T-shirts:
All players receive a t-shirt
If you bypass the shirt size your child will not receive a shirt.  If a shirt needs to be order after the orders, you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping.  If you order the wrong size and need to order a second shirt you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping.

3rd - 6th grade will receive a jersey & shorts to be returned at the end of the basketball season.

Players should:
*arrive on time
*bring a water bottle
*wear separate shoes to the gym
*enter through the side door of the Lake George Elementary School for practices.  At the High School for all games please enter through front door to gym.  Practices please use the back door to the gym.

Players can not stay after school to wait for practice 
Players should not arrive earlier than 15 minutes before practice
