The Lake George Youth Commission baseball program is a developmental program designed to teach basic skills and rules of the game in a fun, healthy environment. Although we play teams from other towns, our baseball program is a recreational program. Players will be assigned to teams at their individual grade levels. Our current levels of play include: Majors (grades 5 and 6), Minors (grades 3 and 4) and Pee Wee (grades 1 and 2).The LGYC baseball program is a Lake George town program.It is not associated with Lake George Elementary School.REGISTRATION: For all students in grades 1st through 6th grades. Registration is $65pp. Registration fees support the baseball program including, but not limited to, purchasing tee shirts, hats and equipment, paying for umpires and field maintenance. All players will receive a LGYC tee shirt, baseball cap and ball. T-shirts: If you bypass the shirt size your child will not receive a shirt.  If a shirt needs to be order after the orders, you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping & handling .  If you order the wrong size and need to order a second shirt you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping & handling. Late Registration: March 21st - April 1st, $75pp, (please note: late registration does not guarantee a tee shirt or hat)  EQUIPMENT: All equipment, especially player owned equipment, must be Little League approved. As of 2018, the USABat Youth Bat Standard is in effect. Solid, one piece wood bats are approved for use under USABat with or without the USA Baseball Certification Mark. All other bats, including multi-piece and composite wood bats must feature the USA Baseball Certification Mark to be approved for play.  https://www.usabaseball.com/bats LGYC has used baseball gloves if any player needs one. Players will be assigned to teams at their individual grade levels. Our current levels of play include: Majors (grades 5 and 6), Minors (grades 3 and 4) and Pee Wee (grades 1 and 2).The LGYC baseball program is a Lake George town program.It is not associated with Lake George Elementary School.REGISTRATION: For all students in grades 1st through 6th grades. Registration is $65pp. Registration fees support the baseball program including, but not limited to, purchasing tee shirts, hats and equipment, paying for umpires and field maintenance. All players will receive a LGYC tee shirt, baseball cap and ball. T-shirts: If you bypass the shirt size your child will not receive a shirt.  If a shirt needs to be order after the orders, you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping & handling .  If you order the wrong size and need to order a second shirt you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping & handling. Late Registration: March 21st - April 1st, $75pp, (please note: late registration does not guarantee a tee shirt or hat)  EQUIPMENT: All equipment, especially player owned equipment, must be Little League approved. As of 2018, the USABat Youth Bat Standard is in effect. Solid, one piece wood bats are approved for use under USABat with or without the USA Baseball Certification Mark. All other bats, including multi-piece and composite wood bats must feature the USA Baseball Certification Mark to be approved for play.  https://www.usabaseball.com/bats LGYC has used baseball gloves if any player needs one. LGYC has some white ball pants.  COACHING: If interested in coaching please email Jim Ross, LG Youth Sports Director at sports@townoflakegeorge.gov (this does not guarantee a coaching position) Coaches have to be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED  All coaches & asst. coaches must be registered with MyRec (https://lakegeorgeny.myrec.com/) Previous experience as a coach or an assistant does not guarantee a position as a coach or an assistant coach. LGYC Director has final say in all coaching positions. All coaches receive equipment bags containing bats, balls, first aid kit, catcher's gear, score book and batting helmets.
