PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
- Our goal is to teach basketball skills and concepts while fostering good sportsmanship and enjoyment of the game.
PARENT/GUARDIAN EXPECTATIONS
- All adults are expected to be positive role models of good sportsmanship and fairplay.
- Spectators and coaches are expected to be respectful of all players, officials and other adults.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their child is on time for practices and games, have a pair of sneakers to change into before entering the gym and supply a water bottle.
- If a child is unable to attend, parents/guardians are expected to notify the coach.
RULES
- All players shall receive near equal playing time. If repeated practice times are missed, playing time may be affected.
- As this is a development league, discretion will be used when enforcing rules such as traveling, double dribbles, etc. with the intention that we are looking for the players to improve throughout the season. The ultimate goal is to develop players to a level that will prepare each for the modified level at the end of their 6th grade year. The 5th/6th grade players will be called on a tighter scale, enforcing the rules of basketball.
