Our goals are to provide a safe, fun & active environment in which children can develop new skills, friendships & self-esteem. To expose participants to a wide variety of activities & experiences that are well-planned & well-supervised in a warm, welcoming atmosphere in which each child is valued & encouraged to respect & value others.
ELECTRONIC FREE EXPERIENCE The Youth Commission Summer program is electronics free, giving campers time to disconnect from technology and reconnect with friends and nature. Our strict no electronics policy is meant to provide campers with the best possible Camp experience. Except when leading select programs and activities, staff also refrain from using electronics. Please help us by not allowing your camper to bring a phone; it is a distraction from the true meaning of Camp. Campers will have access to the camp phone # (518)925-2307
Campers should bring a water bottle everyday.
SUNSCREEN & BUG SPRAY PERMISSION
New York State Public Health Law now requires written parental permission for a child to carry and use sunscreen & bug spray at camp. The legislation further requires the camp to maintain a record of the parental permission and allows camp staff to assist with the application of sunscreen/bug spray when the child is unable to do so, provided the child requests the assistance and that this assistance is permitted/authorized by the parent.
T-shirts
If you bypass the shirt size your child will not receive a shirt. If a shirt needs to be ordered after the orders, you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping & handling . If you order the wrong size and we need to order a second shirt you may be charged the cost of the shirt & shipping & handling.
Signing in/out Ottawa Street behind the high school. Counselors are spread out by grades starting with 2nd grade at the back door. Please bring ID. If someone else is picking up your child(ren) please fill out proper form (from counselors) or email the director.
